Statement on Secretary Carnahan's ballot summary language being overturned and rewritten by Cole County Circuit Judge Daniel Green.
When the final language was issued for the Health Insurance Exchange ballot summary, I was appalled. Though politicians are known for their opinions in the halls of the Capitol, the voters deserve nothing but facts in the voting booth. This abuse of power compelled me and others to sign on to the Amici Curiae brief, filed by Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder. I'm glad to see reason prevail, and spin be put to rest by the justice system with her summary being struck down. It is a shame that it took our judiciary to prevent Carnahan's personal politics from misleading Missourians in our most sacred democratic right.
