Town and Country Teen Headed to Olympics

Town and Country native Sarah Finnegan has been chosen as one of three alternates on the U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

A teen who trained at in Webster Groves will soon be heading to London as part of the 2012 Summer Olympic U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team.

Sarah Finnegan will serve as one of three alternates on the women's senior team. That means she won't compete unless one of the gymnasts is injured and she is selected from a pool as a replacement.

While she would have loved to have been chosen as one of the five competing team members, serving as an alternate is a huge accomplishment considering where she is in her career, according to an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Sarah is only 15 and just made the move from the junior to the senior competition.
