Senior PGA Championship Means Road Closures And No Parking Zones

The City of Town and Country provided the following traffic plan for residents as the 2013 Senior PGA Championship gets underway this week.

As previously reported by Patch, the Senior PGA Championship takes place at Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country May 21 - 26. Ladue Road will be closed from Mason Road to Highway 141 during the tournament. Spectator parking will be based at the Verizon Amphitheater and shuttled to the course. 

The City of Town and Country is reminding residents to be aware and prepare for the road closures this week. Residents can find more details on what to expect this week in the following traffic plan issued by the city.

Road Closing - Ladue Road  -

Ladue Road will be closed during the week of the Event from the intersection of Mason Road to the Highway 141 except for those cars and shuttle buses bearing the appropriate Senior PGA Championship hang-tag identification.

Approved vehicles, Metro buses, U.S. Postal Service vehicles and school buses will be allowed to travel west of Mason Road on Ladue Road.  The same vehicles plus those with the appropriate Senior PGA Championship hang-tag will be allowed to travel East on Ladue Road from Hwy. 141.

Road Closing - Mason Road -

Mason Road will be closed from Ladue Road to West Walling Dr. from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.  Residents from Muirfield and Bellerive Springs Subdivisions should follow the same traffic directions given to them for the days of the Event Week.

Only vehicles with proper hang-tags, school buses, Metro buses, U.S. Postal Service vehicles, and emergency vehicles will be allowed to travel within this area.

Route for Spectators -

The route for public access to the Senior PGA Championship will be to park at the Verizon Amphitheater located in Maryland Heights.  There will be shuttle buses that will bring the spectators from Verizon Amphitheater to the event.  The shuttle buses will follow Mo. Hwy. 141 South to East bound Ladue Road (Rt. AB).  The shuttle buses will drop off spectators at Kirk of the Hills Church directly across from Bellerive CC on Ladue Road.

Spectators that arrive in cabs or are dropped off will need to respond to the parking lot of The Elks Lodge on Ladue Road in Creve Coeur.  A shuttle bus will then transport them to the event.  Those spectators will need to take the shuttle back to the Elks Lodge when leaving and catch a cab from there.

NEIGHBORHOOD TRAFFIC PLAN - 

Babler Road between Conway Road and Ladue Road will be closed to thru traffic during Championship Week from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Barricades and security personnel will be posted on Babler Road at Conway Road and at Ladue Road.  Special hang tags will be provided to the residents and their guests to enter and exit Babler Road from Conway Road.

Traffic on Babler Road will be restricted to:

 

  1. Emergency vehicles
  2. Babler residents & designated guests and services (special hang-tags provided)
  3. Residents, designated guests and services for Bon Chateau (special hang-tags provided)

 

Ladue Road from Highway 141 to Mason Road and, Mason Road from Ladue Rd. to West Walling Dr. will be closed to thru traffic from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Residents who live on streets that must use Ladue Road for access to their homes (i.e. Bellerive Country Club Grounds Drive and Bon Chateau) will also be supplied special hang tags and are encouraged to use the designated routes for access.

Bryn Wyck – Security personnel with barricades will be posted at the Conway Road entrance during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents should enter and exit the subdivision from Conway Road. Barricades only will be at the Ladue Road entrance. All barricades will be moved to the side of the road after 8:00 p.m.

Pebble Acres/Sunway – Security personnel with barricades will be posted at the Conway Road and Ladue Road entrances during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents should enter and exit the subdivision from Conway Road. All barricades will be moved to the side of the road after 8:00 p.m.

Bon Chateau – Residents will enter from Conway Road turning north on Babler Road to Ladue Road turning right or east onto Ladue to Bon Chateau Dr. and exit in the same manner.

Bellerive Country Club Grounds – Security personnel with barricades will be posted at the entrance on Ladue Road from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents will enter and exit through Pebble Acres.  Barricades will be moved to the side of the road after 8:00 p.m.

Muirfield – Residents are asked to enter and exit the subdivision using Olive Blvd to Mason Road.

Bellecoeur – Security personnel with barricades will be posted at both entrances (Mason Road and Ladue Road). Residents are asked to travel south on Mason Road when entering and exiting the subdivision.

The Enclave at Bellerive – Residents, guests and visitors will have a special hang-tag. Access will be granted from Mason and Ladue through the traffic post. Vehicles exiting The Enclave onto Mason Road must proceed south to the Ladue Road intersection.

Laduemont – Residents, guests and visitors will have a special hang-tag.  Access will be granted from Mason and Ladue.  Security personnel with barricades will be posted at both the Ladue and Conway entrances from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Barricades will be moved to the side of the road after 8:00 p.m.

DELIVERY SERVICES

U.S. Postal, trash services, UPS, etc. will be permitted access to each subdivision on their regular schedule using Ladue Road.

HANG TAGS

All of the above mentioned subdivisions will be given special hang tags allowing them to use the designated exits and entrances between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Championship Week, May 20 through May 26.

NO PARKING SIGNS

All subdivision streets near Bellerive Country Club will have “NO PARKING” signs posted, if requested by the trustees of those subdivisions, to prevent spectator parking.
