St. Louis, MO—September 4, 2012: Competitive and casual cyclists all over the St. Louis area are making plans now to ride in the Second Annual Clayton Road Classic on Saturday, September 22 hosted by the Town & Country-Frontenac Chamber of Commerce.   There will be three routes this year to accommodate many fitness levels. There will be a self contained course on the grounds of Plaza Frontenac for kids presented by The Laura MacDonald Team, a 6-mile route for the intermediate rider presented by MO Baptist and a 15 mile route for the more advance cyclist presented by Commerce Bank.  The CRC offers the community the chance to enjoy the start of the fall season, get some great exercise and meet local business owners.

Clayton Road, with its rolling hills, few stop lights and bike lane, is well-known to area cyclists as an ideal route.    The Clayton Road Classic’s Intermediate and Expert ride will begin at Plaza Frontenac at 9am with a police escorted ride for the intermediate route, called a “Rolling Enclosure.” Cyclists will continue West on Clayton Road turning around at Delmar Baptist Church.  Avid cyclist will continue along the outer road to Mason East and then West onto Clayton, and through the roundabout on Woods Mill Road.  Riders then return to Plaza Frontenac for a finish line celebration.
