After a 2-run inning in the 5th for CBC, the Vianney Griffin Catcher Jack Klages sent a solo shot over the fence for a home run, once again tying the game with 4 runs.

But the Cadets busted the game open in the 7th, tacking on 6 more runs. With Griffin Alex Hoffman on the mound, CBC Catcher Joe Schrimpf led off the 7th with a double. Matt Vierling followed up with a single to move Schrimpf to 3rd base. Justin Paulsen hit to center between Griffin outfielders to score Schrimpf.

Cadet Jake Burger kept the rally going with another single, scoring Vierling. A throwing error advanced Burger to 2nd after a hit from Bobby Lang put the ball in play. After a walk from Mike Venturella, Griffin Jimmy Brady came in to pitch, still needing two outs to end the inning. Brady wrapped it up, but only after CBC's Jaelen Gilkey put the ball in play to see two more Cadets cross the plate.

With the score sitting at 10-4, the Griffins came back in their half of the inning with one more run. With the bases loaded, CBC's Vierling ended the game as pitcher and walked Vianney's Matt Brown, allowing a run to score. Vierling picked up a strikeout from Nick Allgeyer to end the game.

The Griffins wrapped up the season with a 25-9 record. CBC (22-8) advances to play Willard High School May 31 at 4 p.m.
