Albert Pujols' Contract Could Buy...

Now that we're losing Cardinals' first baseman Albert Pujols to Los Angeles for an estimated $250 million, 10-year contract, we wondered what you could buy for that.

The news we were all dreading has broken: Albert Pujols is leaving. Word from media reports flying around the Internet is that the Cardinals slugger is going to the Los Angeles Angels for a 10-year, $250 million deal.

That beat the Cardinals last offer to Pujols, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "The Cardinals' modified proposal was believed to be worth a potential $220 million for up to 10 years; however, only nine years are guaranteed, according to a source familiar with the bid."

And ESPN.com's report said the Cards best offer would have made Pujols the fourth-highest paid first baseman in the Major Leagues.

So, $250 million? That's a lot of scratch. In the 1960s, you could have built more than 16 Gateway Arches for that much money.

You could apparently cover Rams quarterback Sam Bradford's contract five times over for that much money.

You could run the St. Louis County park system for nearly 10 years (based on the 2011 expenditure) for that much money.

What else could you do around St. Louis for that kind of scratch? And what do you think about Albert's imminent departure?
