Viewfinder: Families Feast at Festival of Foods

Parkway South High School held its 11th annual Festival of Foods Monday evening to raise money for the junior class' graduation party next year.

Nearly 30 local restaurants donated food. Family, neighbors and friends came to the school's cafeteria and commons area to taste samples and socialize. There was also a raffle and a silent auction for items donated by local businesses. Prizes ranged from restaurant gift cards to a basket of Parkway South Lacrosse swag.

The fundraiser is run by a parents group at the school, Parents Aiding Lifetime Success (PALS). Each class of students has its own PALS group, which forms in freshman year and begins working to make $1,000 grow to $35,000 to fund the overnight drug and alcohol-free graduation party.
