Special School District Students Receive Scholarships and Awards
The Special School District of St. Louis County recognized and awarded 39 students for outstanding achievements, including many from Town and Country and Manchester.

The students received scholarships and awards, according to district officials.
The students were recogniized by the Special Education Foundation along with the Special School District (SSD) at the annual Commitment to Kids Banquet on April 28, SSD said.

Students were honored for their achievements in academics, vocational training, community service, arts, independent living skills and communication skills, SSD officials said in a news release.
The Rosemary Zander Award, the highest honor awarded to SSD students, recognizes students for their extraordinary successes. It was received by 23 SSD students, according to the SSD.

Winners of numerous scholarships and camperships awarded by local organizations were also recognized at the ceremony.
