Parkway Passes Bus Safety Inspection With Above 90 Percent

The Parkway School District said this is the 23rd year its bus fleet passed the annual safety inspection with a score above 90 percent.

The following information was provided by the Parkway School District in a news release.

The Parkway School District Transportation Department was awarded the "Exemplary Fleet Maintenance Award" from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for an outstanding showing in its annual school bus inspection.

This is the 23rd consecutive year the Parkway fleet has scored above 90 percent.  Parkway is the only 100+ bus fleet in Missouri with this excellent record.

As previously reported by Patch, in the Parkway School District, inspectors looked at 147 buses and rated nine of them "defective," which means they could still be used, but the district had 10 days to make required repairs. Another three were taken out of service.
