Kennedy Catholic Senior Signs Letter of Intent

Kennedy Catholic High School senior Paige Miller signed a letter of intent with Youngstown State University Friday.

School officials said Miller has been an integral member of Kennedy’s softball program throughout the past four years. She led Kennedy to its first two softball district championships in 2009 and 2010, as well as two consecutive seasons with a record of 44-6, Courtney Bolesta, Kennedy's director of communication and alumni relations, said in a news release.

Bolesta also said that Miller is a two-time AAA Conference Player of the Year and has been named to all-state second team twice.

“Paige is the most dominant player I have coached in my 20 years of coaching baseball, softball and football. She has the ability to take over a game. When she was in the circle we truly believed we could beat anyone," Kennedy softball coach Troy Ufert said. 

Miller holds 14 school records, according to school officials. They released the following stats on Miller:

      • She also owns Kennedy softball career hitting records for home runs, RBI, and total bases.
      • She owns Kennedy career pitching records for wins, innings pitched, ERA, and strikeouts.
