Legendary Japanese Queen Focus of Lecture at Grand Glaize Branch

The legendary and mysterious Japanese queen Himiko will be the focus of a lecture sponsored by the Japan America Society Women’s Association.

The talk, “Images of Himiko, Shaman Queen of Ancient History,” will start at 6 p.m. June 19 at the Grand Glaize Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1010 Meramec Station Road in Manchester, Mo. The lecture will be held in Room 2.

Laura Miller, a prominent Japanese scholar who is the Eiichi Shibusawa-Seigo Arai Professor of Japanese Studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, will be the guest speaker.
