Green Speaker Series: Backyard Chickens

According to the Denver PostCleveland Plain DealerABC News, and others, the popularity of suburban chickens is on the rise.  They are not allowed in Town & Country, but Creve Coeur recently decided to allow backyard hens (article here).

Why are chickens so popular?  What does it take to be a successful chicken rancher?  For answers to these and other questions, please come to another in the Green Speaker Series sponsored by Town & Country's Green Team Commission: On Thursday, February 16, at 7 pm, horticulturist and chicken expert Bill Ruppert will give a talk titled "The Scoop on the Coop: An Overview of Raising and Caring for Backyard Chickens" in the farmhouse at Longview Farm Park at 13525 Clayton Road, Town & Country, MO 63141.  This event will last no longer than an hour, and is free and open to the public.
