Streets Overhaul Project, New Restaurant, Longview Parking and More Before Town and Country Aldermen Monday

Town and Country could approve a major roads project, new neighborhood, new restaurant, Longview Farm parking construction and additional lighting on The Principia athletic field. Elected officials will also be sworn in. View full agenda here.

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen meets Monday night. 

Re-elected Mayor Jon Dalton and aldermen Lynn Wright, Tim Welby, Jonathan Benigas and Fred Meyland-Smith are set to be sworn in for their new terms at the meeting.

Also on the agenda, as previously reported by Patch, the City of Town and Country is planning an "historic" overhaul of the city's roads. The five-year program was developed and recommended by the city's Public Infrastructure Investment Task Force. Aldermen could vote on moving forward with the project and transfer of funding Monday night. The plan is to invest approximately $5 million in road improvements this year and a total of approximately $16 million into the city's entire infrastructure. The city already approved $1.4 million for 2013 road improvements and another $3.6 million is being considered by the board of aldermen Monday for 2013 road improvements. The additional $3.6 million would be transferred from the city's General Fund Reserve and applied to this year's roadway improvements.

Plans for a new neighborhood,  The residential development would include 69 single-family lots. As previously reported by Patch, developer Pulte Homes withdrew its application to build this new subdivision near Town and Country Crossing in October.

The City is also considering entering into a contract in reference to the Longview Farm Park parking lot expansion project. Aldermen will discuss authorizing the city to enter into the $100,570 agreement with the contractor. If approved, construction could begin in coming weeks.
