West County Fire Changes, Longview Parking & Yard Waste in Town and Country

Aldermen have a packed agenda Monday night. 

Prior to the meeting, aldermen are set to discuss personnel changes at the .

At the June 11 board of aldermen meeting, Alderman Skip Mange, who is also heading up the committee studying the parking situation and recommending the expansion project that will add and estimated 15 parking spots to the park, said it's time for aldermen to vote to bring on an engineer if the city is truly committed to the project and wants to move forward with the survey. Mange is asking the board of aldermen to appropriate $15,000 for the enigeering contract with Sterling Engineering.

Also Monday, aldermen could vote to adopt a city fall yard waste program. 

The proposed fall yard waste program for the  was developed by the city's Public Works and Stormwater Commission, Alderman Tim Welby and Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde.  

The plan would incorporate the program into all four city wards at one time. If approved, there would be four free yard waste pick-up days in November, whether a resident already pays for yard waste service or not. If the resident doesn't currently pay for yard waste service, they'll get it free. If they do currently pay for it, they'll be credited for the month of November. The service would be provided by the resident's current waste hauler: Allied, Meridian or Waste Management. The service will be a combination of bags or bundles, dependent on the homeowners current waste hauler. This plan is different in years past, residents would have to cut tree limbs down to specified lengths this year.
