Traffic Ahead: I-270 Preparation Work to Begin, No Problems for Weekend Events

Plenty of road work is scheduled during the next week but none of it will keep motorists from the Go! St. Louis Marathon on Sunday or other weekend events.

There will be lots of activity on Interstate 270 next week as crews make pavement repairs then narrow lanes and install barrier to begin work to add a northbound lane between Interstate 44 and Manchester Road.  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday crews will close up to three lanes of northbound I-270 from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. in this area.

Additionally, Sunday and Monday, crews will close up to two lanes on northbound I-270 off-ramp at Manchester to make pavement repairs. One lane will remain open on the ramp. The work is scheduled Sunday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Monday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Maintenance crews continue taking advantage of the warm temperatures for striping, bridge flushing and pothole repairs. Drivers should be aware of slow-moving vehicles painting stripes on the roadway during non-peak traffic hours. All work is weather permitting.
