Mange said approximately 95 percent of the construction cost is covered by a grant from the St. Louis County Municipal Parks Grant Commission and fifty percent of the landscaping cost will be covered by a grant.

The total cost to the city will be around $8,000, mange explained.

Construction on the parking lot is expected to be complete in about three months. Mange said it will last throughout he the summer, but will not have a significant impact on park-goers. The park will remain open during the construction and the current parking lot will still be available to visitors.

"The current parking lot will not be disturbed at all," Mange stated in an email to Patch. "The only change is that the east pair of an entrance and exit will be closed, but the west pair will remain open and all current parking spaces will be open."
