Town and Country Board of Aldermen Meets Monday Night

Harassment, solar panels and more set to be addressed at Monday's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting.

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen meets Monday night and for the second time the board will address the issue of harassment to its residents.

A proposed ordinance would give the city more power to handle issues of harassment and more clearly define what is considered harassment and what makes a person criminally responsible for that act. The change to the city ordinance was prompted by the city having little authority to discipline Alderman David Karney after a threatening e-mail was traced to his computer by police.

Another recurring topic on the agenda is the debate over proposed solar panels in a local neighborhood. While one homeowner wants to add solar panels to his property, residents of a nearby subdivision do not want to look at the panels. Again, a request for a permit for the solar system is before the board, it's a topic that has brought numerous residents to previous meetings to speak out against the permit.
