Real, Personal Property Taxes Are Due December 31

Missouri state law requires real property and personal property taxes to be paid by Dec. 31, 2012.

 Tax payments must be postmarked or received by Dec. 31, or will be considered delinquent. Delinquent payments are subject to late charges of 2 percent interest per month, or any portion thereof, with a maximum of 18 percent per year, plus a 2 percent penalty.

Self-addressed courtesy reply envelopes are included with the tax bill for mailing payments. Real property and personal property tax payments may be submitted on one check and mailed in one envelope. If the self-addressed envelope is not used, taxpayers can find the mailing address on the back of the tax bill.

The last day to pay tax bills in person is Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.

Revenue offices at the County’s three satellite locations are open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; the Clayton office opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m.

All offices accept checks and money orders, but only the Clayton office and the North County satellite office accept cash payments. 

Property owners have the option of paying their taxes online at https://revenue.stlouisco.com/Collection/PayTaxes. Payments can be made by direct debit from a checking or savings account free of charge, but if a credit or debit card is used, a convenience fee is charged by the third party provider.
