In an email update, Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde said the pipe replacement under Clayton Road near Highland Point and Sellenriek Road will take place Wednesday night. Work is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. and expected to wrap up by 3 a.m. Thursday.

Wilde said that during the excavation road crews will likely be able to maintain two-way traffic, but traffic may be restricted at times. Flagmen will be on site directing traffic as needed.

Wilde said the pipe replacement work is expected to be cleared up well before Thursday's morning rush hour.

Ground was broken in September and construction began in October beginning the three-phase project to repave Clayton Road from Hwy 141 to the city limits near Bopp Road.

The project also includes creating a multi-use pedestrian trail on the north side of Clayton Road and installing a pedestrian walkway on the existing bridge over Hwy 141 which will connect the sidewalk on the north side of Clayton Road at Old Woods Mill Road to the intersection at Clayton Road and Woods Mill Road.

When completed, the trail will run the length of the city, from Town and Country Crossing in the west to the city’s eastern edge at Bopp Road.

You can view information on the project web page, including plan sheets and landscaping plans. You can view this information here.

The City of Town and Country has also created a Facebook page to update residents regularly on Clayton Road and trail construction.

In addition to daily Facebook updates, Wilde is sending out updates that Town and Country-Manchester Patch is posting for readers.
