As previously reported by Patch, aldermen could vote to apply for a federal grant in conjunction with the City of Ballwin for repairs to Henry Avenue. The road runs through both Manchester and Ballwin. The majority of the road runs through Ballwin with an approximate 62/38 percent split, according to Manchester City Engineer Ed Blattner. The two cities could apply for an East/West Gateway Grant in 2013 for projects on the road, including street overlay, stormwater and sidewalks. The project is estimated to cost $2.48 million, but Manchester has delayed it due to cost. The grant could now pay for the majority of the project.
