New Neighborhood, Budget, Creek and Road Repairs Before Manchester Aldermen

At Monday night's Manchester Board of Aldermen meeting, a vote could come to approve Manchester's 2013 fiscal year budget.
As previously reported by Patch, Tuberty said the city calculated that there would be projected revenue of all funds combined of $18 million with projected expenditures of $17.6 million for the overall 2013 budget.
Aldermen are also set to discuss applying for a grant in conjunction with the City of Ballwin for repairs to Henry Avenue. The road runs through both Manchester and Ballwin. According to documents included in the PDF portion of this article, the majority of the road runs through Ballwin with an approximate 62/38 percent split. The two cities could apply for an East/West Gateway Grant in 2013 for projects on the road, including street overlay and stormwater. The project is estimated to cost $2.48 million, but Manchester has delayed it due to cost. According to the meeting agenda, the grant could now pay for the majority of the project.

The development of a new neighborhood on Manchester's Hanna Road may also be moving forward. As previously reported by Patch, the just south of Parkway South High School. The small subdivision would sit on the approximate four acre site which currently has one existing home. The development is being called The Arbors at Hanna.
Aldermen are also set to discuss moving forward with the Channel B project. Engineers have been studying the issue for more than a year. Channel B is part of the Grand Glaze Creek watershed and travels through many homeowner’s yards. As previously reported by Patch, engineers said there is major erosion and unstable creek banks along Channel B that have left exposed utilities. They have analyzing the effect of storms on the creeks and determine flood elevations. Monday, they may discuss options and costs to repair the storm system.
