Pulte Homes Proposes Town and Country Development, Again

After pulling out of plans to build in October, developer Pulte Homes is once again planning to develop a new neighborhood in Town and Country.

The residential development would once again include 69 single-family lots in a new subdivision called Estates at Town and Country Crossing near Clayton Road.

As previously reported by Patch, developer Pulte Homes withdrew its application to build this new subdivision near Town and Country Crossing in October.

Throughout the process, aldermen and residents expressed concerns about the aesthetics of the development. They said they weren't sure it was the type of quality Town and Country residents would expect in their community.

Pulte is not commenting at this time on why the company decided to once again move forward with plans for the new subdivision.

Pulte made some changes to the previous plans, including some home designs, and last week went before Town and Country's Planning and Zoning Commission to seek approval of another preliminary site development plan. The plan was approved by the planning and zoning commission Monday night. The neighborhood would be located on the south side of Clayton Road, just west of Town and Country Crossing Drive.

Town and Country Planning Director Sharon Rothmel tells Patch this is essentially the same proposal as before, but with minor changes involving some home designs and retaining walls.

Rothmel tells Patch, notice of the plans has been sent to all property owners within a 300 foot radius of the proposed development.

The next step is to present the plans to the Town and Country Board of Aldermen at the April 8 meeting.
