Manchester E-Cycle Dates Set, Parkway Resource Officers Approved

At Monday night's meeting, Mayor David Willson announced the once-a-month recycling event will begin July 21.

RNA Worldwide will hold the recycling events from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the lower parking lot of , so it doesn't conflict with the  summer swimming schedule.

Previously, RNA and the City of Manchester were holding two e-cycling events per year, but the company recently told city leaders there is a high enough demand for additional collections. Now, Manchester will hold the recycling events on the third Saturday of each month, beginning in July.

The monthly event will not require city staff. RNA will provide staffing and clean-up each month.

Residents of the surrounding area are also invited to utilize the recycling event.

School Resource Officers

Aldermen also approved continuing to allow two to serve as school resource officers for all public schools in Manchester, which are all schools.

Manchester Police Chief Tim Walsh explained that one officer, Evan Waters, will be stationed at and will oversee that school, and Officer Randy Rains will be stationed at and oversee that school, as well as the elementary schools in Manchester.
