Manchester Arts, Penske Top Aldermen Meeting Monday

The Manchester Board of Aldermen is set to vote on allowing a Penske truck hub to operatin in the city, plus discuss the new Manchester Arts Council. View the full agenda here.

Monday night the Manchester Board of Aldermen is set to make a decision on whether to issue local business, Ridgway Insurance Group LLC, a special use permit to also operate as a Penske agent from his current location at 14575 Manchester Road. This request was not recommended by the city's Planning and Zoning Committee and Manchester's Director of Planning, Zoning and Economic Development Franz Kraintz pointed out concerns over traffic and noise at the public hearing for the permit request. The vote was deferred at the last board of alderment meeting, but a decision make come Monday night.

Aldermen will also get an update on the newly created Manchester Arts Council. Dan Tierney, deputy director of the Regional Arts Commission, is set to address and update aldermen in its progress. The public is also urged to come listen to the presentation and become involved in the council if interested.
