Longview Parking, Firehouse Improvements Among Town & Country Topics Monday

Town and Country aldermen have a packed agenda Monday night. View it in full here.

Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting looks to be a busy one.

It begins with an early work session at 5:30 p.m. where aldermen will discuss what types of events and programs will be held at and its farmhouse. It's an effort by city leaders and the parks department to determine what size crowds can be expected at the park as the Longview parking project is evaluated.

As it moves forward, there is still some question among aldermen and residents on whether additional parking spots are actually necessary in the park. Monday's "workshop" is part of the process now underway to find that answer. Counters have also been placed at the park's entrances to count traffic.

Aldermen will also get an update on the renovation project at the firehouse at Clayton and Mason roads. They will also discuss approving $744,000 for phase two of the firehouse improvement project. According to Monday's agenda, the funds have already been appropriated for the project in the 2012 budget. Hof Construction is set to complete the work on the firehouse.

Also Monday, aldermen may vote on approving a request for an electronic sign for Trinity Lutheran Church, changing language in a city ordinance form "handicapped" parking to "accessible" parking and change language in the city's conceal and carry code to match Missouri state code verbiage.
