Immigration Reform Effort at Rep. Ann Wagner's Office Friday

Organizing for Action, or OFA-MO, volunteers plan a "congressional sendoff" at Rep. Ann Wagner's West County office urging action on comprehensive immigration reform.

Organizing for Action (OFA) is holding "Congressional Sendoff Events" in West County and Washington, MO Friday. The goal is to push for action on comprehensive immigration reform, according to an OFA news release.

Friday, volunteers with gather at noon at Rep. Ann Wagner's Office, 301 Sovereign Court Suite 201, Ballwin.

The following details of the events were provided by OFA-MO in a news release.

On Friday, September 6th, OFA-MO volunteers and supporters in the Ballwin and Washington areas will hold separate Congressional sendoff events to urge Representatives Wagner and Luetkemeyer to move forward with Comprehensive Immigration Reform when they return to the Capitol. The August congressional recess provides an opportunity for members of Congress to spend time in their home districts and listen to how their constituents feel on key issues. This August, from rallies and town halls to meetings with congressional staffers, a broad coalition has made it clear that passing Comprehensive Immigration Reform is a top priority of the American people.

Volunteers across the state and country are holding similar events, with the same message. With these sendoff events, OFA volunteers will tell Congress to stand with the people they represent, stand with our economic interests, and stand with history. The time for Comprehensive Immigration Reform is now.

OFA volunteers nationwide have spent the August congressional recess organizing their communities around the issues the American people voted for in 2012, like immigration reform, affordable healthcare, combating climate change, gun violence prevention and a better bargain for the middle class, among others. OFA’s “Action August” volunteers will make it clear to their representatives in the Capitol that they expect them to put the American people before D.C. politics.
