Fire House Renovation Cost, New School Before Town and Country Aldermen Monday

EDITOR'S NOTE: This article has been updated to reflect the correct cost of the fire house renovation project and the correct use of the capital improvement funds that are being discussed Monday night.

Town and Country aldermen are set to discuss a number of issues Monday night, including adjusting the 2012 budget to increase expenditures by $53K for the fire station renovations. They could also vote on employee benefits and police department employee compensation.

Aldermen could also vote on increasing a 2012 parks and stormwater fund expenditure.

Fire Station Renovation Cost

Aldermen are set to discuss a proposed increase of $50,000 in 2012 capital improvement fund expenditures, some of which will include costs for the recent renovations at the fire house located at Mason and Clayton roads.  As previously reported by Patch, renovations began on the fire station in June after the city of Town and Country approved the Fire Station 2 renovation project for $853,400. The total cost of the project is reportedly coming in at $855,000. Fire crews moved back into the station in November. 

Also Monday, aldermen are considering allocating an additional $3,000 in expenditures for other capital improvements for the city that are unrelated to the firehouse. That funding is for building maintenance costs throughout the city.

New School Architectural Review

Raintree Learning Community, As previously reported by Patch, aldermen approved a preliminary site plan in September for the school to build at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive in Town and Country. The school's owners plan to have the new school open in Town and Country for the 2013-2014 school year, but are not sure when construction will begin.
