Budget Changes, New Neighborhood Top Manchester Aldermen Agenda Tuesday

Manchester Aldermen may adjust the 2012 and 2013 budgets due to unexpected fees this year, plus emergency legislation may be enacted to move forward with the Tuscan Valley subdivision.

The  meets Tuesday night with city budget changes, and emergency legislation on the agenda.

Aldermen are set to discuss the city budget, both making a change to this year's numbers and reviewing finances for fiscal year 2013. The city wants to increase the 2012 general fund budget by $110,910 and reduce the 2013 general fund budget by $110,910. According to documents included in the agenda in this article, the money is needed in 2012 for "additional personnel, unexpected legal fees, additional meeting and travel costs and restoration of a special event that has been funded." The city also wants to increase the parks and stormwater fund by $12,000 for 2012 and then reduce it by that same amount for 2013, to pay for a tree maintenance project.

An escrow agreement may also be authorized Tuesday night for the Tuscan Valley subdivision. The new neighborhood is to be constructed at 740 Sulphur Spring Road. Previously
