New Board President

The title of board of aldermen president was given up by Ward 2 Alderman Tim Welby and passed on to Ward 4 Alderman Phil Behnen.

"I would do it again in a heartbeat. I enjoyed it, but I think I don't want to run again to give someone else an opportunity," Welby said.

Welby nominated Behnen to replace him.

"It would be an honor to be your acting president," Behnen told fellow board members.

No one else was nominated, and Behnen was elected as the new Town and Country Board President Monday night.

The acting president fills in for the mayor and leads the board of aldermen meetings in the mayor's absence.
