BJC Plans Back to the Drawing Board in Town and Country

After plans for a pediatric center were turned down by the planning and zoning commission, BJC is withdrawing from board of aldermen consideration.

With plans for a pediatric center turned down by Town and Country Planning and Zoning, BJC said they are taking the development back to the drawing board.

A St. Louis Business Journal report said BJC will be deferring the project, withdrawing it from board of aldermen consideration, to make changes to their proposal. The board would have to approve the planning commission's negative recommendation by a two-thirds super majority vote.

As Patch previously reported, BJC—who bought the 16-acre site at 599 Mason Road, —had plans for a 320,000 square-foot pediatric center that would not be a 24-hour service. The location would take over the former Missouri State Highway Patrol headquarters building just off Highway 64/40. Reasons for denial included noise and traffic issues, and property value of neighboring homes.
