Woman Charged With Fourth Theft Within Three Years

Patricia Ann Cline pleaded guilty July 23 to stealing in St. Louis and had two stealing convictions in 2012.

A woman who tried to return merchandise for which she hadn’t paid faces criminal charges for her fourth stealing offense within three years.

Manchester Police said Patricia Ann Cline picked up infant merchandise in the Manchester Walmart, then took it directly to the service desk for a refund.

Cline, 44, of Mineral Point, was charged July 26 with stealing as a third offense within 10 years. Cline pleaded guilty to her two previous charges in March 2012 and November 2012.

Cline previously pleaded guilty to stealing in Florissant in August 2011, and pleaded guilty to stealing in Washington County in 2009. Cline also pleaded guilty July 23 to a misdemeanor theft in the city of St. Louis.

Police said that on June 3, Walmart security personnel saw Cline take merchandise from the shelf and return it for a $184 Walmart gift card. She was arrested several days later, but said she previously bought the merchandise.

Bail was set at $15,000 for Cline.
