Town and Country Robbery: Victim Targeted, Suspects At Large

Town and Country police believe a man robbed at gunpoint Friday night at his home was targeted. K9 units tracked the suspect to , but they remain on the loose.

According to the , just before 9 p.m. Friday, William Bialczak, owner of St. Louis Metropolitan Towing in downtown St. Louis, was robbed in his driveway at 2200 block of Cedar Valley Road. Bialczak, who was indicted and served prison time  in connection to a 2008 towing scandal involving the St. Louis Police Department, was reportedly targeted. 

"They knew he had a bank bag, knew where it was and went right for it," Cpt. Gary explained. "So it was related to his business."

Police said Bialczak pulled into his driveway and got out of his car when two males, who had been hiding in a nearby tree line, charged him and knocked him to the ground.

One of the suspects had a gun and took the resident’s key, keyless remote to his car and a bank bag with an undisclosed amount of money. 

"They know he was a businessman and were aware he was carrying cash," Lt. Bob Arthur explained.

Author said the Maryland Heights Police Department responded with a K-9 unit and tracked the suspects a short distance from the victim’s home to Drace Park, which is located near Clayton and I-270. Police believe the suspects has a vehicle parked there and fled the area.

"We're still piecing it all together. We'll process the evidence we collect and take it from there," Arthur said. 

Both suspects are described as wearing ski masks and dark shirts. Police said one was wearing red jogging pants and the other was wearing gray jogging pants.
