Trees Down, Roads Closed in Manchester and Town and Country

UPDATED 10:15 p.m. Monday

The storms and high winds downed trees in both Town and Country and Manchester Monday.

Both police departments tell Town and Country - Manchester Patch that they have no reports of injuries.

police report Mason Road remains closed Monday night at Peacock Farm Road, adjacent to Queeny Park, due to storm damage. Police tell Patch an Ameren electric line is down over the roadway, so Mason Road will remain closed until Ameren crews can safely remove the line.

All neighborhoods from Peacock Farms/Mason Valley south will need to access their neighborhoods from Manchester Road. Drivers should take an alternate route as crews work to clear the road. Many homes in  the area remain without power Monday evening. In addition, other downed trees in the area fell on power lines. Ameren crews were still working to restore power Monday evening.

Town and Country police also received calls of trees down on Topping and Conway roads immediately after the storm Monday, but those have since been cleared. There are also reports of wires down at Clayton Road and Wellington Manor and on Arlington Oaks, they are believed to be “dead” wires.

Manchester fire crews reported power lines and trees down around the city, including in neighborhoods along Henry Avenue. Ameren crews were out Monday afternoon working on those lines.

Ameren reports 17,013 customers still without power in St. Louis County as of 10:15 p.m. Monday. Crews are still working to restore power.
