Manchester Police said during the transaction at about 4:25 p.m. Oct. 24, a person inside the car, Gutmann showed the camera to an undercover officer posing as a buyer.

Police then moved in to make the arrest. Officers in marked tactical vests ordered Coleman to stop the car. One detective grabbed the front passenger door handle, and Coleman accelerated, knocking the detective off balance and throwing him under the car. He was not seriously injured.

Officers surrounded the car, drew their weapons and Coleman stopped the car, according to the police report.

Coleman also was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury on a theft charge Oct. 3. Coleman had his bond revoked on the theft charge after prosecutors filed the assault charged. He is being held in St. Louis County jail.

Gutmann was released on his own recognizance Oct. 29.
