St. Louis County Police Take Kids Out to 'Shop With a Cop'

St. Louis County Police officers with the West County precinct took kids shopping this holiday season to help they by gifts for themselves and their families.

St. Louis County Police officers started Saturday, Dec. 16 with a breakfast for the kids at the Elks Lodge in Manchester.

The St. Louis County Police Department teamed up with the Elks Lodges from Manchester, Ellisville, and St. Louis to help raise money so children from West County could go shopping with an officer at an area store of their choice on Dec. 16.

St. Louis County Police West County Precinct school resource officer's chose 15 kids from the Parkway, Rockwood and Valley Park School districts to participate.

Police said the Elks raised $1500 and gave 15 students a $100 gift card each to “Shop With a Cop” for personal Christmas Gifts.

Kids, who were selected by resource officers at local schools, purchased presents for their families during the annual "Shop with a Cop" event. Many of the kids also received gift cards to use for presents for themselves.
