Police Offering Prescription Drug Drop-off Day
Residents can drop off old or unwanted prescription drugs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

St. Louis County Police are offering to help with spring-cleaning.
Saturday, police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are hosting a prescription drug take-back day.

Anyone wishing to dispose of old or unwanted prescription medication can drop it off with St. Louis County Police from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“It can be anything from over-the-counter drugs like Claritin,” said Officer Mike Schira with St. Louis County Police. “If people are cleaning out their medicine cabinet and want to get rid of heart, pain medication or anything at all, we’ll take it.”

Police said this day is especially helpful for the elderly, who can correctly dispose of their medication instead of throwing it in the trash.
“It lessens the risk or chance of somebody getting in there and taking it, especially a child,” Schira said.
The event is completely anonymous and police said they’re taking a “no questions asked” approach.
There cities of Manchester and Town and Country are not participating Saturday, but there are other drop off locations, including the North County Recreation Complex (2577 Redman Road), the Clarkson Valley substation (15933 Clayton Road) and the Fenton precinct (625 New Smizer Mill Road).
