People Of All Ages Flock To West County Safety Fair

Agencies from around St. Louis County participated, including the Town and Country Police Department. Check out the event in this photo slideshow.

There's a good chance that if you've had an up close look at the inside of a police cruiser or an air-medic helicopter, it wasn't under the best of circumstances.

That's what made the annual Creve Coeur Safety Fair a unique event Sunday on the campus of in Creve Coeur, as more than 40 agencies from the local level on up to federal departments showed off their gear, their vehicles, and demonstrated how those things help save lives and solve crimes every day.

For some agencies, it was a chance to show the public what the job is really like, as opposed to how it gets portrayed on television and in the movies. For people of all ages, it was a lesson about what can happen if you're on the wrong side of a car accident or a DWI case.
