New Dispatch Center Completing Construction and Staffing Decisions

Construction on the combined central dispatch center in Town and Country should be complete by Feb. 25.

The West Central Dispatch Center, a combination of police radio dispatching staff from the cities of Creve Coeur, Frontenac and Town and Country, should be taking a big step forward in terms of staffing next week.

After a meeting of the WCDC board Wednesday, Creve Coeur Police Chief Glenn Eidman said interviews with 13 incumbent dispatchers from the participating communities were held Friday. Eidman said the next step was to work on salaries and benefits for dispatchers hired by the new agency. He indicated there would be more information available by next Monday or Tuesday, but that no conditional employment offers had been extended.

Meanwhile, construction continues on the new center that will be housed in the Town and Country Municipal Center. The majority of the ceiling work is now complete and next week, three new radio consoles will be installed on site.
