Grinchy Thief Cleans Out Shed

A fully decorated Christmas tree was among a variety of items stolen from a storage shed Nov. 17 on Tesson Hills Drive in Fenton. Also missing were a pool table, a sectional sofa, three air purifiers, a green bicycle and a set of red pots-and-pans and a table and chairs set.

A woman told police she parked her car in front of a Walgreens store Nov. 13 in University City and then entered the store. When she returned, the vehicle was missing. She told police she may have left the keys in the vehicle's ignition when she went in the store.

During an investigation of a damaged street sign on Laclede Station Road in Shrewsbury, police found a clue at the accident scene that the suspect left behind -- a license plate. Police traced the plate to a woman who lives in Ballwin. When contacted, she turned herself in to Shrewsbury police and was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident.

First You Steal a Crane

A lot of heavy lifting was involved in the theft of two rooftop air-conditioning units and three ground-based air-conditioning units at a business area on Ravensridge Drive in Shrewsbury. The thefts were reported on Nov. 14, but police said the units were stolen during the previous two weeks. 

Air Conditioners are Hot Items

Several air-conditioning units, as well as their copper connections, were discovered missing Nov. 18 in thefts at several apartments on Manchester Road in Kirkwood

Adding Insult To Injury

Shrewsbury police arrested a south St. Louis man Oct. 31 for writing a bad check for $26.50 to the Shrewsbury Municipal Court. Because the account was closed, the matter is a felony under state law. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will review the case.

Closet Sleeper

A man was arrested for trespassing Nov. 14 after he was discovered asleep in a guest suite closet of an apartment complex on North Clay Avenue in Kirkwood. The man was arrested for trespassing. He also was found to be wanted by a neighboring police department on theft and drug-related charges.

You DO get Arrested for That

An intoxicated suspect Nov. 12 refused to leave Petromart, 600 Gravois Bluffs Blvd. Fenton, then urinated next to the Dumpster. He was arrested.
