Investigators tell Town and Country-Manchester Patch they got the call of a "suspicious vehicle" traveling from the Ellisville area on August 11. A Manchester police officer spotted the car and pulled it over at 9:30 p.m. in the 14200 bock of Manchester Road.

Police say while the officer was talking to the female driver, the male passenger got out of the vehicle and took off running. The female was detained and later arrested for outstanding warrants and traffic violations, but a foot pursuit of the male passenger ensued. Investigators said the suspect disappeared into the nearby wooded area along Grand Glaize Creek, so St. Louis County police brought a K-9 in to help with the search. The dog located the suspect hiding in bushes and he was taken into custody .

"An inventory search of the car revealed contents commonly associate with manufacturing meth," the police spokesperson tells Patch.

The St. Louis county drug task force also responded and seized the chemicals. Both people were subsequently charged with VMCSL (Violtion of Missouri Controlled Substance Law). The male was also charged with intent to distribute and manufacture dangerous drugs, and resisting by flight, police said. Investigators also tell Patch he was wanted on warrants out of Franklin and St. Louis counties.

The female was also charged with driving on a suspended license, other traffic charges and had three fugitive warrants out of Franklin County and two out of St. Louis County for incidents in Jennings, police said.

Warrants are being sought by Manchester police so the names are not yet being released.

Police said both the man and woman are not Manchester residents, but they are from Labadie, Mo which is near Washington.
