Manchester Police Receive Odd Calls in Recent Police Blotter

Police locate 'wanted' driver, a burglary that never happened and one man finds out you can't nap on the side of the road. That and more in this most recent edition of Manchester police blotter.

June 17: 14300 block Manchester Road

Destruction of Property: A driver accidently hit the accelerator instead of brakes and struck a planter box in front of a local store. There were no injuries and no word on what caused the break/gas mix-up.

June 18: 400 block Enchanted Parkway

Assist to Other Agency: A car wanted for leaving the scene of an accident in Des Peres was spotted by a Manchester police officer who was on routine patrol. The Manchester officer notified Des Peres police and Des Peres police responded and took the wanted driver into custody.

June 20: 200 block Highlands Boulevard Drive

Suspicious Person: Police were called after a man was spotted lying in bushes on the side of the road between businesses. Officers found the man and once they determined he was not physically injured, he was told to "move along."

June 20: 300 block Enchanted Parkway

Burglary: A resident called police reporting a home break-in and saying a purse had been stolen. However, there was no evidence of a break-in and the purse was found. Police stated the resident was apparently confused and did not remember where the handbag had been placed.
