Man Pawned Property Stolen From Town and Country, Police Say

The man also is charged with burglarizing a Frontenac home, where police said he cut himself on a broken window, allowing them to match his DNA.

A man faces criminal charges after police said he sold property reported stolen from a Town and Country home. The man also faces charges related to a Frontenac burglary, where the man cut himself on a broken window, according to police.

 Jeffrey Schwartz, 24, of the 1200 block of Still House Creek Road in Chesterfield, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property.

Police said Schwartz sold an Apple laptop computer and iPad reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Bon Chateau in Town and Country, near Ladue and Babler roads.The items were sold to a St. Louis area pawnshop. 

Town and Country Police said the items were sold between 11:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. June 27. The items were valued at about $1,100.

Town and Country police said Schwartz was also indicted by a grand jury for receiving stolen property from a burglary on Timmor Court in Town and Country in Sept. 2011.

Frontenac Police said also Schwartz broke a window in a home in the first block of Portland Avenue and climbed in the house at about 11:45 a.m. May 22. He fled before stealing anything, but cut himself on the broken window, leaving blood behind, according to a Frontenac Police report.

Police said he was identified by a DNA match.

Bond was set at $30,000 in each case.
