A woman who lives in an apartment on High Ridge Boulevard handed her boyfriend her engagement ring Jan. 11 when he told her he wanted to show her a magic trick. Instead, he ran out the front door and disappeared. The ring is valued at $5,000.

Arnold police charged a Barnhart man, 19, with disturbing the peace at the Arnold 14 Cine, 1912 Richardson Road. Police booked the man and later released him on a court summons.

A U-Gas gas station employee, at 3611 West Outer Road, reviewed security video and saw two men steal two bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey and one sandwich.

Police arrested a woman from Affton for property damage after she sat on a bathroom sink and broke it at Phil Mart, 7250 Lansdowne Ave. The incident took place at 3:30 a.m. The woman left the gas station without exchanging her contact information to the cashier. Police were able to trace a license plate to an acquaintance of the suspect. The woman was issued a citation to appear in municipal court.
