Gunter Postpones Plea on First-Degree Murder Charge

WIlliam Lynn Gunter of Town and Country waived his arraignment Wednesday which means he will not enter a plea on first degree murder charges until he appears in circuit court at a later date.

William Lynn Gunter waived his arraignment in St. Louis County Associate Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

Gunter, 59, has been charged with first-degree murder in the March 18 death of his wife, Suzanne. St. Louis County Police said she was killed with a blunt instrument.

During Gunter's appearance in associate circuit court Wednesday for a scheduled arraignment, the charges were formally read to him.

He is expected to enter a plea when he appears in circuit court. A date has not yet been set for that, but the case has been assigned to Circuit Court Judge Michael D. Burton.

Gunter is being held in St. Louis County jail without bond.
