Former Town & Country Police Officer Files Sexual Harassment Suit

The suit filed in St. Louis County court this week alleges Shannon Woolsey was harassed by fellow officers while serving as the only female officer in the department.

The lawsuit was filed against the  Monday by former officer Shannon Woolsey. 

According to court documents (included in the PDF portion of this article), Woolsey worked for the department from April 2001 to May 2011. The documents allege that Woosley said fellow officers and her supervisor made inappropriate comments to her. They also state that Woolsey reported the incidents to her superiors.

Court documents also indicate that Woosley felt retaliation for reporting what she felt was harassment and unfair treatment compared to other male officers in the department.

Town and Country city officials referred Patch to attorney Chris Hesse for a comment. Hesse did not return Patch's call for a comment Friday.
