Fire Destroys Two Apartments Off Weidman Road

A dog was rescued Tuesday night from a fire at the Cherry Creek apartment complex near Manchester Road.

Central County Dispatch said a Tuesday night fire destroyed two apartments at the Cherry Creek apartment complex in the 200 block of Hickory Hedge Drive. The complex is off Weidman Road near Manchester Road.

Central County Dispatch tells Patch said crews got the call at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, by a passerby who saw the fire from Manchester Road.

fire crews responded. They tell Patch a resident was barbecuing on the back patio and nearby wood caught on fire.

The fire spread to two of the four apartments in the building. Those two are now uninhabitable, Central County Dispatch said.

No one was injured, but a dog was rescued by firefighters.
