UPDATE: Child OK After Pulled From Pool in Town and Country

Emergency crews responded to a possible drowning call, but report Thursday the 9-year-old girl is "doing just fine."

EMS crews responded to a report of a possible child drowning just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to West County EMS and Fire Protection District officials.

West Co EMS crews tell Patch Thursday morning that the girl was conscious when they arrived on the scene and when she was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

Town and Country police also responded to the call from a home off Topping Road.

Police tell Patch Thursday that the 9-year-old girl is "doing just fine."

Police said the girl fell into the pool and was removed immediately.

"She was coughing, so an adult called paramedics just as a precaution," Gary Hoelzer with Town and Country explained.

Hoelzer said the girl was taken to the hospital and checked out and returned the party.

"So she's doing just fine," Hoelzer tells Patch.
