The Town and Country Police Department is holding Town and Country Night Out on Saturday, Oct. 2.
According to the department, the St. Louis Area Police Chiefs Association set the first Tuesday of October as St. Louis Night Out in lieu of the National Night Out in August.
The Manchester Police Department is not participating in Tuesday's event.
Town and Country police now hope residents across the city will celebrate the event by socializing and meeting neighbors from 6 to 8 p.m. that night.
Town and Country police, West County EMS and Fire Protection District crews and Town and Country elected officials will visit as many “block parties” as possible during the evening.
"The goals of Town and Country Night Out are to foster partnerships between members of the community and our police and fire organizations and to acknowledge the many residents and neighborhoods who are taking an active role in promoting safe neighborhoods," police stated in a news release.
