Bomb Threat Evacuates Charter Communications Headquarters Off I-270

Employees are back in the building after the bomb squad was called in to investigate a reported threat at Charter's Town and Country headquarters off I-270 Wednesday.

Town and Country police responded to a possible bomb threat around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Charter Communications corporate headquarters, 12405 Powerscourt Drive, in Town and Country. The building is located just off Interstate-270.

Police explained the situation in an email Thursday afternoon that stated employees are now back in the building and no bomb was found.

According to police, the building was evacuate after someone used a marker and wrote “BOMB” on a refrigerator door in the employee break room.

The St. Louis County Bomb & Arson Unit was called in and searched the business, but determined there was no explosive in the building.

The building was given the "all clear" at 12:42 p.m., police stated. 

Town and Country police point out the false alarm is considered a felony violation of Missouri statute "Making a Terrorist Threat" and is punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Authorities are still investigating.
