Accident Sends Multiple People to Hospital Monday

Rescue crews were called to the scene of a crash Monday in Town and Country where one person was extricated and five people were taken to the hospital.

Rescue crews were called to the scene of a crash Monday in Town and Country where one person was extricated from a car and five people were taken to the hospital. 

According to spokesperson Kim Bacon, the call came in around 12:30 p.m. Monday of the crash at 3015 North Ballas Rd.

Numerous rescue crews responded to the scene. One person was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated.

also responded to the crash. Captain Gary Hoezler said one vehicle heading northbound on Ballas Road ran a red light and struck another vehicle that was  heading southbound on Ballas Road making a left turn onto eastbound Highway 40.

Bacon said five people were taken to area hospitals, including  in Town and Country and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Hoelzer said the injuries from the accident were minor.
